About Talodhi (Balapur)


Talodhi (Balapur) is a small town in Nagbhid taluka in Chandrapur district. Talodhi (Ba.) can be reached by railway as well as road transport from Chandrapur. It is 90 km from Chandrapur on the road to Brahmapuri and 100km from Nagpur on the road to Mul Talodhi (Ba.) is a small educational hub for more than twenty nearby villages with three Senior Colleges, one B.Ed college and one B.P.Ed college. There are Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Anusayabai Poshattiwar English Medium School and Vishwa Jyoti English Medium Convent School along with Marathi medium schools to cater to the needs of primary and secondary education. The educational institutions are so popular in the quality of education that students even from the nearby talukas such as Nagbhid and Sindewahi also prefer this place. Talodhi (Ba.) is famous for production of various varieties of paddy rice produced by organic fertilisation. A farmer from Nanded Shri. Dadaji Khobragade featured in Forbes Magazine for his experimental varieties of rice.

Talodhi (Ba.) attracts tourists from distant places. Sai Mandir Temple here is famous in the district. Talodhi (Ba.) is surrounded by dense forest adjoining Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, ‘The Jewel of Vidharbha’, which is a home for many wild animals. Gaymukh located in forest 5 km away is an interesting holy place to visit for its beautiful natural surroundings. Ghodazari 15 km away from Talodhi (Ba.) is a pleasant picnic spot.
